One of the first things I did when I wanted to lose weight was to sit down and create three sets of goals. I decided short term, mid-term, and long term goals were the best way to go. Please if you are just starting out or you haven't created your own list of goals please do so now. It will be worth it in the end when you can go back and look at how far you have come.
Short-term goals are goals that I could complete in a few months.
Mid-term goals I could complete in six months to a year.
Long-term goals I could complete in year or two.
To me goals are not something set in stone they can change as your life or your desires change. I am continually adding and deleting goals from my list as I complete them. There are a few things I had added to my goals that I tried and I didn't really like so I didn't complete. Using dumbbells I did for a bit but they really didn't motivate me so I dropped them and found something else I enjoyed better.
